America Behind the "My Name Is Khan"

My Name Is Khan to the media to tell the world what really happened in the United States at that time. More importantly: this is the movie that revealed the suffering of the Muslims the United States after the terrorist attacks the World Trade Center (WTC), something which has not much public knowledge of the world.

They become victims of slander, it is alleged terrorists by the police or FBI. Countless captured, for later released because there was no evidence. It is still not nothing. Countless Muslims became victims of beatings or mistreatment of Americans who pissed in the streets. The women were forced open her headscarf. Countless homes or property owned by Muslims were looted or vandalized. All the action was racist. Why not?

There are a bunch of Arabs led by Osama Bin Laden reportedly accused of terror with threw airplanes into the World Trade Center. As a result, two twin towers fell, and about 3000 people on board were killed. It was a horrible event.

But why then who are victims of retaliation are Muslims in the United States - totaling about 7 million of the 300 million population of the United States - who do not know anything about the terror events? Obviously this is due to the attitude of racism that lies in the depths of the hearts of many people the United States. This is the first racist attitudes that lead to destruction of the Indians of the Americas, or lead to slavery for hundreds of years of black people from Africa.

Events racism to Muslims after September 11 was really embarrassing. You see, the United States has always been highlighted as state champions of democracy, equal rights supporter, and protector of human rights. But through the "My Name Is Khan was shown just how bad the United States after September 11, 2001. Bad cop, bad journalists, bad neighbors, even teenagers too bad. All is not friendly. All the hateful and racist.

DANCE AND WITHOUT singing
As mentioned above, My Name Is Khan is a romantic movie romance. Like most Bollywood films, he later became melancholy, full of scenes drain tears, and then all end up happy endings.

Rizwan Khan (Shahrukh Khan)
Rizwan Khan (played by actors of the top current world of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan) a young Muslim from Mumbai, India, go migrate to San Francisco, top sponsor his brother, Zakir, who had already been settled there, and success.

Rizwan people with Asperger's syndrome, a kind of autism that is mild disease. It makes it look different from other humans. He is very intelligent, capable of repairing almost all types of machines, but the difficulty interacts with new people. He was very afraid of the color yellow.

The assistance Zakir, Rizwan worked as a salesman of beauty products made from herbs. All seemed to run smoothly. Rizwan, Zakir and his wife, Haseena, a psychologist who wear headscarves, seemed to live in harmony. They were devout worship.

Mandira Khan (Kajol Devgan)
In our work, Rizwan acquainted with a nurse beauty, Mandira (played by actress number 1 Indian, Kajol Devgan). Mandira, living life as a widow with one son, Sameer alias Sam, having abandoned her husband.

Long story short, Rizwan and Mandira adrift of romance and married and settled outside of San Francisco, in places where they seek a small beauty salon. Mandira want any added Sameer Khan behind their name. This family friendly with a neighbor, Mark, a reporter with a wife (Sarah) and a boy (Reese).

Everything looks rosy. But unlike ordinary Indian film, here there are no scenes of dancing and singing for flavoring recipes. Instead, a number of songs put forward as an illustration for a particular scene. Thus, the film still feels India.

But then came the events of September 11 was hurt. Mark, their neighbors reporter, assigned to cover the war in Afghanistan, and killed there. Since then, his son, Reese, a close friend of Sameer, turned into enemies. Because the name behind the name Khan, Sameer Reese regarded as people of Afghanistan. Other people were hostile to them.

Haseena worse fate. He was beaten a number of men on the street just because they wear hijab. Other Muslim population suffered the same fate: the store was damaged, ditimpuk house, or the person beaten. In fact, not a few Indian Sikhs - wearing turbans on the head - also a victim because people imagine that Muslim Afghanistan. So once again, all this illustrates how racist attitudes still thrive in U.S. society.

Sameer received the worst fate. Starting an argument with Reese, Sameer beaten several teenage Caucasian simply because his skin is black. Actually, Reese tries to save Sameer, but to no avail. Sameer, who is dying had taken to the hospital but his life was saved.

Rizwan was so sad because he was very familiar with the son's stepmother. But the shock is the mother, Mandira. He thought''disaster''that befell them because of Khan's name on the back of his name and Sameer. And Rizwan is largely responsible for the disaster he was expelled. He asks Rizwan told Americans, including President of the United States: that the name Khan, but he was not a terrorist (My name is Khan, and I am not a terrorist).

Rizwan was sincerely doing that job. He wandered alone. In the wanderings, he had attended an open event which was attended by President George W. Bush. He approached the president while continuing to shout: My name is Khan, I am not a terrorist. Have not heard Bush's cry, the guards to subdue him because of suspected terrorists.

What he experienced, really painful: he entered the room with the hot temperature, then transferred to a very cold room. Various other punishment he should receive. Yet ultimately he should be freed because no proven as terrorists. It was also thanks to the help of three journalists from India.

Name Rizwan then bounced into a hero on television, for helping residents of a village hit by floods in Georgia. Incidentally villagers were black people and did not get assistance from anywhere. After a crowded news on television, help comes from Muslims who coordinated Haseena and her husband, Zakir.

This scene was apparently inspired flash flood tragedy in New Orleans due to inundation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The majority of flood victims are black people and days can not help from the government. This event led to harsh criticism of President Bush's buffeted by the colored people especially from the United States.

In Gujarat, 2000-AN MUSLIMS KILLED
So now the happy ending arrives. Mandira entertained after police arrested the teen who killed his son, thanks to the testimony of Reese who feels guilty for the tragedy. Mandira was looking Rizwan to Georgia. They both then attended a meeting of the new President-elect Barack Obama to replace George Bush, with his supporters.

They managed to meet the new president. Your name is Khan and you're not a terrorist, said President Obama to Rizwan before thousands of supporters.

My Name Is Khan was first released in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 10 February. Two days later, then this film is outstanding in Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, and the rest of the world. In many places this film is reportedly a record-breaking Indian film audiences, as in Britain, Australia and the United States. Apparently My Name Is Khan added only strengthen the domination of Bollywood's top film world today, after stepping over Hollywood.

The New York Times, 13 February, in resensinya mention is interesting to see America through the lens of Bollywood, even just a fairy tale that is told. For example, the most impressive about the relationship between the Muslims (India) with the United States a black person in the movie. Khan''easily provoke tears, as she teaches about Islam and tolerance,''the newspaper wrote that the United States.

Tolerance? The words seem increasingly difficult to put into practice now. In India alone, the film was circulated in the midst of threats of violence without the tolerance of the supporters of Shiv Sena, a radical Hindu party and very anti-Islamic.

A number of movie theaters do not dare to play "My Name Is Khan. When the film was released in Mumbai, the main town and center of Indian film, 12 February, had deployed thousands of police guarding the theater of action of Shiv Sena. The group had lowered pamphlets and posters of movie theaters. In order to secure the film about two thousand supporters of the radical party that had secured the police.

Shiv Sena real action, according to many observers, focusing on the protagonist of the film, Shah Rukh Khan, who happens to Muslims. Khan is listed by Newsweek magazine as one of the 20 most influential leaders of the world, was out of the country to promote his film, when the Shiv Sena in action in Mumbai.

Through twitter Khan wrote that he did not want to disturb the atmosphere of his films is his hometown. ''I hope that peace prevail and the City in a state of calm,''he wrote. To note the total Muslim population of 140 million among the 1 billion population of India, several times a victim of violence from Hindu majority group.

In Mumbai, for instance, in 1993 anti-Muslim riots broke out among others, fueled party Shiv Sena. In 2002, anti-Muslim riots erupted in Gujarat for several months, leading to the 2000's Muslims died.

As noted Professor Martha Nussbaum, an expert on law and ethics at the University of Chicago in his book The Clash Within (Harvard University Press, 2008), the killing of Muslims in Gujarat by Hindu radical groups is very cruel. Which were slaughtered not only women and children. Pregnant women oroknya issued, then thrown into the flames. Rape of Muslim women is prevalent.

What's worse, these riots involving police institutions, intelligence, or Hindu bureaucrats, even the Chief Minister of the State of Gujarat, Narendra Modi. After the riots many Muslim-owned property that was left running, taken over by Hindus. That is what happened in India, which are often proud of as a democratic country.

Review: My Name Is Khan (2010)

It can not be denied if the events of 11 September 2001 did have a major impact for the lives of Americans. This tragic event makes an existing gap between the citizens of America with immigrants from Asia and the Middle East that Muslims became more broadly. Rizwan Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) is one of the immigrants who are victims of the impact of these 911 events.
Rizwan is a young Muslim from India who suffer from Asperger's syndrome, a disorder that makes it difficult to interact with most people. Rizwan then decided to move to San Francisco, United States, to try his fortune in a country whose people say this is a dream land. In San Francisco is also Rizwan met Mandira (Kajol), a Hindu woman from India, who also lived there.
Despite opposition from both families, the two young men decided to get married and start their own business. In the dream began to materialize, the tragic events of 11 September to destroy the dreams they were both beautiful. Mandira who could not bear called terrorists and this makes Mandira marriage Rizwan and eventually fall apart.
With the aim to retake the hearts of women who loved it, Rizwan then took the big decision to travel around the United States. Arriving at LAX airport, Los Angeles, Rizwan officer arrested for behavior that is considered a little strange suspicious actions by the officers.
Seeing the eyes of Hollywood from Bollywood. Experience is what will the audience felt while watching Shahrukh Khan showing off his acting skills. Rarely is there a movie that can do this. Could be Karan Johar, the director, tried to borrow a trick used when working on Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire but that's not why because Karan presented in a way that is fresh.
Karan Johar is able to show America from the immigrants from India and apparently that's the key to success Karan when making this film. The issue presented is not a new issue. Discrimination, fear, love, goodness, all mixed well by Karan in a 161-minute length of this movie. The interference of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol would not be trivialized because two people are able to play without having to look over-bright. Deserves a thumbs up.

Review: Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008)

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (Hindi: - रब ने बना दी जोड़ी ), translation: A Match Made by God) is a 2008 Bollywood romantic comedy directed by Aditya Chopra and produced by Yash Raj Films. Shahrukh Khan stars in the film as mild-mannered office worker Surinder "Suri" Sahni whose love for beautiful, vivacious Tania "Taani Partner" Gupta (Anushka Sharma) transforms him into the loud and funloving "Raj." It was released worldwide on 12 December 2008.

Plot:
Shy, introverted, and kind-hearted Surinder "Suri" Sahni (Shahrukh Khan) is an office employee for Punjab Power. He quietly falls in love with the daughter of his former professor (M.K. Raina), beautiful and vivacious Tania "Taani" Gupta (Anushka Sharma), whom he first sees during the preparations for her wedding. When they are introduced however, Taani jokingly berates and blames him for setting an impossible set of standards (reiterated by her father) that she was never able to meet growing up. A short while later, the shocking news arrives that her lover and fiancé and his wedding entourage were killed in a road accident. The hitherto immensely carefree Taani's immediately distraught; her father suffers a heart attack. Fearing that Taani will be alone in the world, the professor on his deathbed, and paternally affectionate toward Suri, requests him to marry her. Suri silently concedes; Taani tearfully agrees for her father's sake.
After an impromptu wedding, Suri takes Taani to his ancestral home in Amritsar. While his good nature leads Suri to treat her with exceptional care, illustrated by his letting her have his bedroom all to herself, and patience, he is too frightened to profess his love for her. Besides which, Taani tells him that while she will try to be a good wife and thus respect her role in his life, she can never love him due to having no love left within her. Suri, least bothered and grateful for the increasing acts of wifely affection she does show, proceeds to indulge her wishes. These include regular evening trips to the cinema to see song and dance films which appeal to Taani's fantasies about romance and her passion for dancing. She soon asks for Suri's permission, which he grants, to take an expensive dance class with a Bombay company Dancing Jodi to unwind from her mundane life at home.
During those evenings spent at the movie-theatres, Suri realizes his inadequacy vis-a-vis the strong, masculine images that Taani admires and later asks his long-time chum Balwinder "Bobby" Khosla (Vinay Pathak), a hair-salon owner, for grooming advice so as to win her love. Bobby is eager to help and gives him a complete makeover (shaving off his mustache - an accidental gag, modding his hairstyle, fitting him out in funky Western-style clothing including aviator-style shades with oversized pastel lenses). Suri is thus transformed into the swaggering, crude, and fun-loving "Raj Kapoor", a name he borrows from the hero of the movie that Taani had recently admired. He joins the dance class to be near her. By chance — or, as he puts it, by divine choice — he becomes Taani's partner in the competition. Despite Raj's initial obnoxiousness — a result of Surinder's inexperience with women and his over-the-top attempts to emulate the "cool" images from movies — he and Taani become friends as they work together on their dance routine. Suri feels encouraged when Taani does not tie a rakhi (holy thread) on "Raj's" wrist during the festival of Raksha Bandhan (for to do so would indicate that she thought of him only as a brother). Thus, after a period of time, Raj declares his love for her.
Suri's ruse poses a dilemma for both of them. Taani enters into a period of internal conflict, desperately wanting to escape from her despair-filled life through finding a new person to love. Despite wanting to escape what she believes is a loveless marriage, Taani feels compelled to stay with Suri due to the promise that she made to her father. Suri also faces an extraordinary paradox: Taani's sheer misery as his wife in contrast to her delight with his fabricated alter ego, Raj. He thus attempts to win Taani's love as Suri, an act which only alienates her further. She eventually runs away to find Raj in order to tell him the predicament she is in, hoping he will help her. He offers to elope with her, which she agrees to, tearfully. They set the date for their elopement to the next night, the night of the competition. Later that wet night, freed of his 'Raj' facade, Suri confides in Bobby his desires to not do the right thing - reveal all to Taani - but end the charade in his own way, i.e. sacrifice his cravings for her love, leave her his property and transfer himself to Delhi.
On the day of the competition, Suri takes Taani to the Golden Temple in order to garner God's blessings for her competition that night—and internally, also for her life with(out) Raj. While there, Taani has an epiphany in which she believes God has shown her a sign that tells that her marriage to Suri is divinely inspired. For the first time she reflects on her husband and becomes aware of the strength and integrity of Suri's character, something she can grow to love. Taani thus tells Raj that she cannot choose him over her newly-discovered life-partner. She leaves him in what appears to be a state of shock with tears in his eyes. When the time comes for their performance Taani, resigned to Raj's non-availabily, is stunned to see Suri instead join her on stage. Even as he kick-starts their eventually competition-clinching routine, Taani puts two and two together and through a series of flashbacks during the dance awakens to the fact that Suri is Raj. Backstage she confronts Suri and when he confesses his love for her, she tearfully admits that she returns his feelings. The two having won the competition head off on a honeymoon to Japan, the trip itself a product of Suri's erstwhile endeavours - as Suri - to win Taani's love.
